We loved our stay at this cozy house. The location was amazing, with beautiful nature walks right on our doorstep. The house was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of activities to enjoy inside on rainy days. It was a bonus to have wellies and wood for the fire provided. The house had everything we needed, including a dishwasher, washer, and tumble dryer. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and the surrounding area was peaceful and relaxing. We also appreciated the availability of Netflix and Amazon Prime for entertainment. a perfect place for a relaxing getaway in nature.
Couldn't fault.

We got great value for our money at Black Dog House. The room was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect, with a lovely park and river nearby for the kids to enjoy. The staff treated us very well, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The hotel breakfast menu could have been better with a wider variety of options.

The house itself is spacious and cozy, with a living room featuring an open range fire for relaxation. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need. The house is perfect for families, with four big bedrooms and two bathrooms, including an en-suite. The house is incredible! It’s a lot bigger than it looks with three floors, four big bedrooms and a bathroom and en-suite. The living room is wonderful, so cosy with the open range fire. The kitchen has everything you need. Perfect for relaxing, taking in nature and stunning walks. Slitt Woods nearby with beautiful waterfalls. We also visited Barnard Castle, Hadrian’s Wall and Hamsterley Forest. Great for switching off and enjoying nature with loved ones.
Felt totally at home, nothing was too much trouble.

Our stay at Black Dog House was absolutely amazing! The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful countryside and nature walks right at our doorstep. The house itself was incredibly spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room for our group of friends to spread out. We loved all the extra amenities like board games, piano, and guitars, which kept us entertained during a rainy day. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms were spotless with plenty of towels and face cloths. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches like wellies and wood for the fire pit in the back garden. The communication with the staff was excellent, and we had no trouble accessing the property. I would highly recommend Black Dog House for a cozy and enjoyable getaway.
There were only a couple of minor drawbacks during our stay. the dials on the oven had worn off, making it a bit difficult to use.

The house was incredibly spacious and had a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. We loved the fact that there were lots of board games, a piano, and guitars available for entertainment. The location was ideal, being situated opposite a pub. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms were also clean with plenty of towels and face cloths provided.
One minor issue we encountered was difficulty in operating the oven as the dials had worn off and there were no instructions available. Additionally, some areas of the house could have been cleaner, particularly the kitchen utensils, cupboards, and drawers.
